How points add up on 1Mint

Points are a thank you with a number on it. You go to a place, you use an offer, and the balance can go up. Later you spend those points. That is the loop. Every famous program you already belong to is a louder version of the same loop, with more rules and a better app team.

What the big programs trained us to expect

In Canada the two that taught the habit are groceries and flights. PC Optimum turns a weekly shop into a balance you can spend on more groceries, or sometimes on other stuff in their world. Aeroplan turns flights and card spending into a balance you can turn into another flight, or into merchandise when the miles are orphaned. Coffee did it next. Starbucks Rewards and Tims Rewards replaced the punch card. Sephora Beauty Insider did it for makeup, with tiers and a birthday gift. You already know how to open an app and look at a number. 1Mint is that habit pointed at local rooms.

This page is not going to guess what one point is worth in dollars. The big programs change their rates. A blog that freezes a rate becomes wrong on purpose. If the app shows a value later, believe the app. Your wallet is the number. This article is the map.

A normal visit

Start with a place you already like. Open places or search. Points are a weak reason to cross the city for a shop you do not want. They make more sense at the counter you already hit. If you are picking a dinner from our reel, the full reviews are in the food ranking, with separate pages for Copper Chimney and Butt Karahi.

An offer is the deal on that visit. Look at offers before you leave. Read the date. Use it if it matches what you were going to buy. A coupon you forget is worth nothing, which is the short version of a longer bad habit. If the screen does not mention points, do not assume a secret bonus showed up.

Where the points are headed

The shop is where bigger rewards are going. Names already on that page include Samsung, LG, KitchenAid, Bose, Cuisinart, and Frigidaire. It still says coming soon. When it opens, that is where you spend points, or you can pay the normal way. The reason a product list exists at all is the partnership with NLI Solutions. NLI and the rewards shop tells that story and links the news releases.

If the whole idea still feels like a stamp card with extra steps, it is. What a loyalty program is starts there, including the paper card that disappears. The number in the wallet is the part you can check tonight.
